Information on the 2009-10 refresh program.

At the June 17th Board meeting, the Board authorized entering into an agreement with Municipal Asset Management to finance the 2009-10 computer refresh program purchases at an interest rate of 3.49%.

The refresh order for this school year has been completed and submitted. Machines will be delivered around mid September and the tech team will begin the intensive task of assignment and distribution. Thanks for your patience.

With an uncertain budget for next year, we are putting the future refreshes on hold until an assessment can be made regarding the program. Chris Edmondson will be heading up the assessment. Your feedback is important.

We anticpate that we will have to squeeze additional years of use from our computers. The plan right now is to stretch laptops for 4 years and desktops to 5 years. With carefull handling, this is very doable even though they will be out of warranty after 3 years. Please handle your machines with care and we'll be able to make them last longer thereby saving the district additional dollars.
