You can adjust your laptops energy use and maximize your battery life by tweaking the power saving settings to best meet your needs. Start by opening Control Panel > Power Options > Power Manager tab> Launch Power Manager button. From there you can select a power scheme and customize numerous settings.
A power scheme is a predefined collection of power options. Choose a power
scheme to apply settings that fit the way you use your computer, or use one as a
starting point for creating your own personalized power scheme.
