Computers and associated hardware use electricity. Electricity costs $money$. Lots of money. Help the district save money and reduce its carbon footprint by turning of desktops, monitors, laptops, printers, projectors, and other electron guzzling devices when not in use.

You can adjust your laptops energy use and maximize your battery life by tweaking the power saving settings to best meet your needs. Start by opening Control Panel > Power Options > Power Manager tab> Launch Power Manager button. From there you can select a power scheme and customize numerous settings.

A power scheme is a predefined collection of power options. Choose a power scheme to apply settings that fit the way you use your computer, or use one as a starting point for creating your own personalized power scheme.











NOTE:
In most cases, servers should NOT be shut down. Check with the network team before powering down any servers.

Computers and servers should be powered down correctly. Do not just pull the plug. Files can become corrupt when power is lost suddenly. Use the operating system to do a soft shutdown.
